DNA多型分析の実務的応用
DNA多型のうち，short tandem repeat（STR，２～５塩基を繰り返し単位とする縦列反復配列）がメンデルの法則に従って親から子に遺伝しするのに対し，ミトコンドリアDNA（mtDNA）は母系遺伝する。現在，STRおよびmtDNAを使って親子鑑定と個人識別を行い，それらの有用性と問題点を検討している。。
