講座の概要
緑内障と網膜硝子体疾患の病態生理、診断、治療を主な研究テーマとしている。現在進行している研究テーマは以下の通り。-
1） 緑内障の病態の解明
2） 病態に基づいた緑内障の治療法の開発
3） 糖尿病網膜症や加齢黄斑変性を代表とする網膜硝子体疾患の分野に関して、病態の解明を電気生理学、形態学、分子生物学的手法を使って進める。
4） より安全な網膜硝子体手術を行う為に、手術補助剤や手術と併用する薬物療法についての研究。
5） 眼科領域の悪性腫瘍の原因遺伝子解析
Outline of Department
The main subjects of our research are glaucoma and vitreo-
retinal diseases including their pathophysiology, diagnosis
and treatment.-
Current topics are as follows:
1) Elucidation of pathophysiology of glaucoma
2) Development of new treatments for glaucoma based on its pathophysiology
3) Elucidation of pathophysiology of vitreo-retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration with techniques of electrophysiology, morphology and molecular biology
4) Development of surgical adjuncts for safe vitrectomy
5) Genetic study of the malignancies in the intra- and extraocular region
