講座の概要
神経病態科学，免疫学を基盤とした臨床医学への挑戦神経内科および呼吸器疾患を中心に病理学的，分子生物学的， 免疫学的手法を用いて研究を行っている。
神経内科グループでは，筋ジストロフィー，多発性筋炎などの 難治性神経筋疾患の治療法の開発と高度先進的診療システムの構 築に関する研究，脳血管障害の臨床病理学的研究，パーキンソン 病やアルツハイマー病などの変性性神経疾患の成因と治療法の開 発および神経感染症の発症機能解明と治療法の開発に関する研究 を行っている。
呼吸器グループは，呼吸器免疫学の立場より研究を行っており， 特に間質性肺炎やサルコイドーシスなどのびまん性肺疾患の病態 解明と治療法の開発，気管支喘息や好酸球性肺炎などのアレルギ ー性肺疾患に対する臨床および基礎的研究，肺癌の新たな診断法， 治療法に関する臨床研究を行っている。
Outline of Department
Challenge to the Clinical Medicine based on Neuropathogenesis
and Immunology.Our department specializes in neurology and respiratory medicine.
We are doing research, using pathological, molecular biological and immunological techniques. The focuses of research for the neurology group are various neuromuscular disorders (e.g. muscular dystrophy, and polymyositis, etc.). The construction of highly-advanced medical systems for them, clinical and experimental studies for the cerebrovascular disease, degenerative neurological diseases (e.g. Parkinson disease, and Alzheimer disease, etc.), and neuroinfectious diseases are other important research themes.
The respiratory medicine group concentrates mainly on diffuse pulmonary diseases (e.g. interstitial lung disease, and sarcoidosis, etc.), allergic pulmonary diseases (e.g. bronchial asthma, and eosinophilic pneumonia, etc.), from the aspect of respiratory immunology, and clinical research for establishing effective diagnostic techniques and treatment of lung cancer.
