With an appointment

  • Please submit your medical referral letter, CD, Japanese Health Insurance Card, certificate for publicly funded care, etc. at First Visit Reception Counter No. 2.
  • ※If this is your first visit to our hospital, please check-in between 8:00 and 11:00 am.

No appointments or medical referral letter.

  • Please inquire at the general information counter.
  • As a rule, our hospital requires first visit patients to make a complete appointment. Appointments are accepted only from referring medical institutions. We do not accept direct applications from patients or their families.
  • Oita University Hospital has been designated an "advanced treatment hospital". Therefore, if you do not have a medical referral letter, you will be asked to pay an extra ¥7,700 (per medical department) in accordance with the Japanese medical service law. Your health insurance will not cover this fee.

Outpatients' Examination Reception

  1. In front of the reception counter, you’ll find a reception machine and a monitor showing the reception number.

  2. Scan the barcode at the top left corner of your "Today's Information Form" using the barcode reader at the reception counter, then head to the reception counter.
    When the red circle appears, your registration is complete.

  3. Please move to the front of the examination room when your reception number is displayed on the reception number display (monitor).

Billing

  1. Please submit your patient file to Billing Counter No. 5 to receive a number slip.
  2. Please show your Japanese Health Insurance Card once a month.

Automated Payment Machine

How to use the Automated Payment Machine

If you have any questions about how to use it, please ask a staff member.

  1. You can pay by cash, credit card, or a bank cash cards.
    We accept VISA, Master, JCB, OC, DC and AMEX credit cards.

  2. Insert your Patient ID card, or scan the bar code on the number slip.
    When scanning the bar code, place the bar code face up for scanning.
    When using your Patient ID card, please insert the card into the card slot.

  3. The medical care fee will be displayed.
  4. For cash payments, please insert bills into the bill slot and coins into the coin slot.
  5. When paying by credit card/cash card, please insert the card in the slot that says "card," and then enter your PIN and press the green confirmation button.
  6. Please take your change and receipt.
  7. Please be careful not to forget your card, change or receipt.

Patients with In-house prescriptions

Your number on the medicine exchange ticket will appear on the display at the External prescription counter, and you can receive your medicine at the pharmacy.

Please submit your medicine exchange ticket, say your full name, and receive your medicine.

The external prescription counter offers a fax service that will send your prescription information to an external pharmacy in advance, so please feel free to use this service.
