March 9, 2025 Medical students from Mahidol University’s Siriraj Hospital, one of our partner institutions in Thailand, are currently participating in clinical training at Oita University Faculty of Medicine. Nath and Atsuki previously joined our laboratory rotation program two years ago. At that time, Nath conducted research in our laboratory. This time, both of them are training in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Mikey, who is visiting Oita for the first time, is undergoing training in the Department of Gastroenterological and Pediatric Surgery. Today, together with Dr. Kurosawa, Dr. Kajiwara, and Dr. Natori from the Department of Emergency Medicine, the Thai students and our medical student Yuri Shiina enjoyed a one-day trip to Saganoseki. They first had lunch at the “Seki-aji & Seki-saba Museum,” where they tasted the region’s famously fresh fish ― truly delicious! After lunch, they visited the “Sekizaki Mirai Kaiseikan” planetarium, where they watched a story about Hayabusa2 while gazing at the stars. (It was in Japanese ― hopefully, the Thai students understood some of it!) As the sun set, everyone strolled along the coastline, enjoying the gentle sea breeze and the early signs of spring at the cape. It was a relaxing and memorable day for all.
