◆感染症および炎症性疾患の分子免疫学◆

 当研究室では,感染防御に働く免疫システムの分子基盤とその破綻による炎症・アレルギー疾患の病態を分子レベルで解明し,その成果を病気の予防や治療に結びつけることを目標にしています。具体的には,免疫機能に重要なシグナル伝達制御に関わる分子の遺伝子改変マウスを用いて,感染時の宿主免疫応答や自己免疫疾患・炎症性疾患などの病的な免疫応答を分子レベルから個体レベルまでにわたり幅広く研究し理解することを目指します。また,感染症の病原体,媒介動物および伝播に関する研究も分子レベルから海外学術調査まで様々な視点から進めています。

◆Molecular Immunology of Infectious Diseases and Inflammatory Disorders◆

Our research goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying protective immune responses against infection and inflammatory disorders caused by dysregulated immune responses. In particular, we focus on the roles of molecules involved in signal transduction in immune cells such as cytokine signaling and Toll-like receptor signaling. Using some genetically engineered mouse models, we study on the immune responses against pathogens during the course of infection as well as against self-antigens in autoimmune diseases. We also study on disease pathogens and their vectors at the molecular level as well as in field studies in Southeast Asia and Northeastern India.

    1) Molecular immunology of inflammatory diseases caused by dysregulation of signal transduction in the immune cells.
    2) Integrated studies on disease pathogens, vectors and host immune responses.
      - Mosquito borne diseases such as Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya fever, etc.
      - Protozoan and helminth infection: Leishmaniasis, Toxoplasmosis, Anisakidosis, etc.
