Farewell and Welcome Party of the Department of Infectious Disease Control (October 3, 2025)
On October 3, 2025, the Department of Infectious Disease Control held a farewell and welcome party at Bolero Shokudo.
This gathering celebrated the retirement of our long-time technical assistant, Ms. Nakano, and welcomed her successor, Ms. Goto, as well as new graduate students Dr. Umeki and Ms. Tip.
In addition to the faculty and graduate students of our department, the party was joined by fifth-year medical student Mr. Hayashi, and third-year students Ms. Maeda and Ms. Iijima, who are scheduled to join our department next year and will study in Thailand as part of their international program. The event was filled with friendly conversations and warm laughter throughout.
During the speeches, Ms. Maeda and Ms. Iijima greeted everyone in English as they shared their aspirations for the upcoming study abroad experience. Inspired by them, Dr. Umeki also introduced himself in English, and Ms. Tip spoke about her motivation for future research, creating a lively and international atmosphere.
A touching moment came when Ms. Ueno, our technical assistant, presented a bouquet of flowers to Ms. Nakano and was nearly brought to tears.
At the end of the evening, everyone gathered for a commemorative photo together with the owner-chef of Bolero Shokudo, marking a memorable conclusion to a warm and joyful event.
We sincerely thank Ms. Nakano for her dedicated service to the department and look forward to the continued success of our new members. |
