2025年11月23日 マヒドン大学医学部IFMSA主催 AMR Webinar に登壇タイのマヒドン大学医学部でIFMSA-Thailand(SCOPH)が主催する、AMR(薬剤耐性)月間企画「Voices for Change: Tackling AMR Webinar」がオンライン(Zoom)にて開催され、ゲストスピーカーとして招待されました。本ウェビナーは、“Empowering Youth and Policy Action to Combat AMR”をテーマに、世界各国の高校生・大学生を主な対象として行われました。 プログラムには、各国からAMR研究・教育に携わるスピーカーが参加し、以下の4つのセッションが行われました:

November 23, 2025 — Invited as Guest Speaker for the IFMSA-Thailand AMR WebinarOn November 23, 2025, I was invited as a guest speaker for the online event “Voices for Change: Tackling AMR Webinar”, organized by IFMSA-Thailand (SCOPH), Faculty of Medicine, Mahidol University, in conjunction with Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Month. The event was held on Zoom and targeted high school and university students from various countries who are interested in global health, public health, and microbiology. The webinar was themed: “Empowering Youth and Policy Action to Combat AMR.” The program featured AMR speakers from several countries and consisted of four sessions:[9:30–10:00] What Is AMR and How Does It Happen? [10:05–10:35] The Impact of AMR on Global Health Systems [10:40–11:10] The Role of Students in the Fight Against AMR [11:15–11:45] A World Without AMR: What If We Succeed? I delivered the opening session: “What Is AMR and How Does It Happen?” My talk covered the scientific principles of antimicrobial resistance, including: - How microorganisms develop resistance to antimicrobials - Biological and genetic mechanisms underlying AMR - Human behavioral factors contributing to AMR - Overuse and misuse in humans and animals - Failure to complete treatment courses - Overuse in agriculture - The global challenge posed by the slow development of new antibiotics It was a valuable opportunity to share scientific insights and encourage younger generations to take an active interest in AMR as a critical global health issue. |
