Phat and Fern Attend Graduate Research Presentations (September 30)
On September 30, the Graduate School of Health Sciences and Welfare at Oita University held its mid-term and research proposal presentations at the Dannoharu Campus. Phat, who will enter the master’s program at Oita University Graduate School this fall as a recipient of a Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship, is scheduled to join the Graduate School of Health Sciences and Welfare. She attended the presentations with Fern, who will also begin her studies this fall, and Professor Reiko Hanada from the Department of Physiology. By listening to presentations by senior graduate students, they had an opportunity to learn more about what to expect from graduate-level research and prepare for their own studies. Among the presenters was Phuntsho Wangda, an international student from Bhutan in Professor Reiko Hanada’s laboratory, who gave a mid-term research presentation. His presentation was followed by an active question-and-answer session, with participants discussing his research from various perspectives. Other presentations were also followed by lively discussions and constructive advice from faculty members to help the students further develop their research. It was a highly engaging and interactive presentation session. For Phat and Fern, who will soon begin their graduate studies, the event was a valuable opportunity to gain a clearer picture of graduate-level research by seeing firsthand how students present their work and engage in discussions with faculty members and other researchers. |
