Award Ceremony for the Research Grant of Japan Kampo Medicine Education Fundation (JKME)
On February 8, 2025, our research project was selected for a grant from the Japan Kampo Medicine Education Fundation (JKME) , and an award ceremony was held at the Toshi Center Hotel in Chiyoda, Tokyo. The research project, jointly proposed by Dr. Kyoko Yamamoto (Center for Medical Education) and Dr. Yoshihiro Nishida (Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology), is titled: “Implementation and Educational Effectiveness of Kampo Medical Education through Near-Peer Teaching (NPT)”. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a new educational approach in which young physicians who are actively engaged in Kampo medicine, as well as medical students belonging to the Oriental Medicine Study Group, serve as instructors to teach lectures and practical sessions on Kampo medicine—addressing the shortage of faculty members specialized in this field. During the ceremony, keynote lectures were delivered by the recipients of the Encouragement Award and Meritorious Service Award, followed by the Grant Research Symposium, where participants actively discussed the future development of Kampo medical education. |
