Preventing Falls and Tumble Injuries
- During your stay, changes in your environment and a potential decrease in muscle strength or stamina can make you more prone to falling than you might expect.
- Hospital floors are harder than those at home, so a fall can lead to serious injuries or fractures, which may interfere with your medical treatment.
- We want to work with you and your nurses to create a prevention plan so you can have a safe and worry-free stay.
- If you feel you need assistance when walking or moving, please do not hesitate to ask a nurse for help.

※ Spilling water, tea, or other liquids on the floor can cause slipping.
You must remove the spilled item immediately, so please inform our staff.
Choose safe footwear

※As hospital floors are hard and can be slippery, we recommend wearing shoes that are flat (no heels) and have non-slip soles. For your safety, please avoid slippers or loose-fitting footwear. These are available for purchase at the hospital shop.

Overbed Tables and Bedside Cabinets
These items are equipped with casters (wheels). They may move unexpectedly if you lean on them, which is very dangerous. Please do not use them for support when standing up or moving.
Management of Personal Items
- Hearing Aids and Dentures: To prevent loss, please bring and use designated storage containers for these items.
- Electronics: Please inform a nurse if you bring a laptop, tablet, or other electronic devices into the hospital.
- Care of Belongings: Please take extra care to avoid losing or damaging your belongings (e.g., from dropping them).
- Note: The hospital cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage of personal items.
In Case of Emergency
- Follow Instructions: In the event of a fire, earthquake, or other emergency requiring evacuation, please remain calm and follow the instructions given by doctors, nurses, and hospital staff.
- Emergency Exits: A nurse will show you the location of the emergency exits upon your admission. Please make sure you are familiar with the nearest exit.
- Do Not Use Elevators: Elevators will stop during an emergency. Do not use the elevators; please use the stairs for evacuation.
