Fall prevention
>
  • While in the hospital, you may be more likely to fall than expected due to changes in your environment and a decrease in muscle strength and stamina. Because hospital floors are harder than at home, falls can lead to injuries and fractures, which can affect your ability to receive proper medical care. Discuss preventive measures with your nurses in order to ensure a safe and secure hospital stay. Please consult the nurse if you need to be accompanied when walking or moving at any time.

※ Spilling water, tea, or other liquids on the floor can cause slipping.

You must remove the spilled item immediately, so please inform our staff.

Choose safe footwear

Hospital floors are hard and slippery, so it is recommended to use shoes with no heels and a non-slip surface.

You can buy such shoes at the hospital store.

Wear your shoes safely

Around your bed
About the use of bed fences

If the bed rail is not used, the patient may fall out of bed. Please use the bed rail, especially when sleeping.

Over tables and bedsteads have casters (wheels).

They start to move when weight is applied to them, which is dangerous, so please do not hold onto them.

Personal item management
  • Hearing aids and dentures must be kept in their own containers to prevent them from being lost.
  • Please ask a nurse if you wish to bring in a computer or tablet device.
  • Please be careful not to damage the product due to loss or dropping.

In case of emergency
  • If evacuation is necessary due to fire, earthquake, etc., please follow the guidance of doctors, nurses, and hospital staff and act calmly.
  • The nurse will explain the location of the emergency exit to you when you are admitted to the hospital, so please make sure you know where it is.
  • In the event of an emergency, please do not use the elevators, as they will stop functioning.
