Introduction of clinical department

The Department of Dermatology provides medical care for all dermatology issues, including skin cancers, eczema/dermatitis, drug eruption/skin allergy, urticaria, psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis/palmoplantar pustulosis, autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune skin blistering diseases, cutaneous infections, and cutaneous ulcers in close cooperation with other departments including plastic surgery in our hospital and local medical facilities. We also conduct various clinical studies, including clinical trials. We would like to contribute to every patient sincerely and persistently to fulfill our mission as the center of medical care and human resource development in the field of dermatology in Oita Prefecture.


Advanced treatments/ Specialized treatments

  1. Multidisciplinary treatments for skin cancers, such as surgical treatments including sentinel lymph node biopsy, and chemotherapies including immune checkpoint inhibitors.
  2. Multidisciplinary treatments for severe drug eruptions, such as SJS and TEN, and autoimmune skin blistering diseases, including systemic administration of steroids, intravenous immunoglobulins, and plasma exchange.
  3. Multidisciplinary treatments for atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, including ultraviolet therapy and biologics.
  4. Investigation and managements of allergic diseases (e.g., food and drug allergies), including skin and induction tests.
