Introduction of clinical department

The Department of Pediatrics specializes in meeting the physical and developmental needs of children from infancy through to young adulthood. Clinical subspecialties include neurology/developmental medicine, endocrinology, genetic medicine, hematology–oncology, immunology, infectious diseases, cardiology, nephrology, neonatology, inborn errors of metabolism, and critical care medicine for children. Through the collaboration with pediatric subspecialties, we provide inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic, and emergency services for all children when required. We deliver superior patient care, advance new discoveries and treatments through pediatric research, and serve as the pediatric medical center for Oita Prefecture. Our academic mission is to improve the physical and mental health of all children and adolescents, and to develop next-generation pediatrics by educating the pediatrician leaders of the future, advancing research, advocating for children, and providing the best-practice pediatric clinical care.
