Introduction of clinical department

The Clinical Pharmacology Center provides medical care focusing on drug treatment as part of the hospital’s internal medicine services. The Center has three core areas of expertise.

The first area of expertise is the clinical trial outpatient clinic, which is an outpatient clinic that provides consultation on clinical trials, advanced medical care, and patient-requested medical treatment. We provide medical care to promote rational drug treatment based on the latest clinical pharmacological knowledge. We also develop and verify new drug treatments.

The second area of expertise is the psychosomatic outpatient clinic and clinical psychology service. It is crucial to promote holistic medical approaches and provide total medical care. That is, it is important to not just focus on the disease itself but also on the psychosocial background of the affected person based on good medical staff/patient relationships.

The third area of expertise is the pharmaceutical internal medicine clinic, which offers consultations that range from simple questions about medicines to providing second opinions about the medicines that the patients are taking. The clinic has a consultation function for personalized medicine to implement optimal drug treatments for each individual, including consideration of genetic polymorphism, age, and physique, and a consultation function for drug interactions.
