The staff working in the Emergency and Critical Care Center operate the advanced trauma, emergency, and critical care center. They provide advanced and modern emergency medical care to fulfill the hospital’s role as the last bastion of emergency medical care and the base hospital for the emergency helicopter ambulance in Oita Prefecture. Throughout the year, the team treats patients who face life-threatening causes, such as severe trauma, severe burns, acute poisoning, stroke, acute coronary syndrome, and mental illness with physical complications. In addition, the team of multidisciplinary medical professionals work together to practice high-quality medical care and work to correct regional disparities in medical care by building a wide-area medical system. In the event of a disaster, they also bear a heavy responsibility as a command center in Oita Prefecture. Medical responses in collaboration with multiple institutions is also an important mission.
